Experience & Perspective
Burl Toler III brings over a decade of experience in college football as a coach, recruiter, and coordinator, spanning both FBS and FCS programs across multiple conferences. His career includes roles coaching special teams, running backs, and wide receivers, as well as serving as a recruiting coordinator and pass game coordinator. Prior to coaching, he competed as a collegiate student-athlete at the University of California, Berkeley, and later played professionally and internationally.
This breadth of experience gives Burl a rare, inside view of how programs actually evaluate athletes, allocate scholarships, manage recruiting boards, and make long-term roster decisions. He understands not only what the recruiting process looks like on paper, but how it functions in real time — under pressure, within budget constraints, and inside highly competitive environments.
